The Helen’s Acres Team works with an assortment of paid help and volunteers to farm approximately 9 acres of the land. The three staple crops grown (best suited for longer storage) are potatoes, carrots and onions. They also manage large berry crops and facilitate mentorship between farmers and the much of the distribution to the community. The team uses traditional and regenerative agricultural techniques.

“Mamas for Mamas is a national charitable organization that supports mothers and caregivers in crisis by providing ongoing support to individuals and families facing various poverty-related struggles. Part of their mission is carried out through their Sustainable Nourishment Program.” On the farm, they managed a 1/2 acre family friendly garden plot and they also take care of the chicken and duck coop!
